*Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an experiential, in-depth form of treatment that explores the ways in which past experiences and emotional expectations developed in childhood have contributed to current difficulties in functioning. This form of treatment examines the complexities of interpersonal relationships, including the developing relationship with the therapist.
* Dr. Petterson is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice, specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in Psychobiology, her Master of Art degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, and her Psy.D. degree from California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles in Clinical Psychology. She completed her postdoctoral training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Wright Institute, Los Angeles and has published in the American Journal of Psychoanalysis.
